Is Chicago, Is Not Chicago

Marshall Field's Old Orchard

They already took down the Marshall Field's sign and have a tarp with the Field's name hiding the Macy's sign. You'll be able to buy Frango mints at any Macy's across the country, but the Marshall Field's name will disappear from all the store, except from the brass plaques at the State Street store. I have nothing against New York, but the last time they tried to make a move into the Chicago market, Nathan's Hot Dog's lasted only a couple of months. Chicagoan's are not happy about the name change and I can see some of them shopping at Carson Pirie, Nordstrom's, even Sears. So many Chicago names have disappeared over the years, but that's the nature of business. In a perfect world, a Chicago company would buy out Macy's
